Design
So you can see in the pictures a couple posts down that the way the stove and fridge are located...is ridiculous. theres about two ft in between to get through. Wouldnt be such a big deal BUT thats the way you gotta go to get to the bathroom, upstairs, and bedrooms.
I would LOVE to relocate the fridge a little to the right and the stove across the room next to the back mudroom door. But Im getting estimates of $300 or so?! Im also thinking it might be a must because we're going to have to pull out the stove to move stuff in and to paint the cabinets. Hm. Thinking of having the company have the gas off until July 2nd after the furniture will be moved in and atleast, cross your fingers, the cabinets are painted.
Anyway I kind of doodled up some views of the rooms how I want them. Example...south wall of the kitchen, east wall of the living room etc.
Yeah I know Im a dork, my boyfriend tells me that everyday :D

EAST KITCHEN
On the right is where the stove is now.
NORTH KITCHEN
This is where I want the stove. Next to the back entry door. Plus then I would have a functioning kitchen with a triangle layout. Flashback to Interior Design in HS.
SOUTH KITCHEN
We would be extending the "breakfast" area more to the right, taking out some cabinets, and moving the fridge over. The door on the left is the hallway to the rest of the house. The fridge currently is farther left than the cabinet is that I have drawn up here.
WEST DINING
Normal chairs and table...
NORTH DINING
Sofa table dealio and you're probably confused already. The door on the far right is the back entry door. The door in the middle is the barn door style I want to update the laundry room with. Basically just getting the sliding track and a plain door(painting it red!)...
EAST LIVING
Door on the left goes to the basement. Bookcase. TV Stand.
NORTH LIVING
The table and chairs would technically be seen in this view but I didnt put them in. The thing on the right is my pathetic attempt at a chimney. They currently have it covered with the hideous wood paneling but if possible I want to tear it off and expose it. THEN paint it white :) The granite painted end table on the left and the gorgeous red chair and ottoman I recieved courtesy of Mr. Anthony Boyer.
SOUTH LIVING
Front entry door on the left, my used-to-be-white chair in the middle and then the black floor lamp.
WEST LIVING
Another view of the floor lamp being on the left, gorgeous red couch with a coffee table in front of it. You can slightly see that the end table is going to be kitty-corner with the couch and red chair.
Yeah I didnt bother doing the bedrooms...sue me.
Also looking to do a clipboard with a coat rack type deal for the mudrooms too. That way if we need to put someones mail, a note, etc, they'll see if when they get their coat!
Granite
I cannot tell you how HARD it is to find all these projects I want to do for the new house and have to WAIT. I am the most impatient person. Thats probably why some of my paint jobs can be a tad bit sloppy ;)
My Goal: Take my time with the painting of the walls and cabinets in my new house.
Holy smoly this is going to be hard.
Atleast all of the pre closing paperwork is almost complete. I had to have me madre sign a paper saying I have 100% access to our joint checking account. Didnt even know ours was joint. Oh well. Then I passed by it on the kitchen table about 3 times this morning reminding myself not to forget. And what did I do?
Forgot it. Of course.
I have been getting as much painting, furniture wise, done as I can before we move. The single car garage at the new house has a dirty floor and no garage door. There wont be room for my craft stuff inside the shop after the guys get their tools, band equipment, and couch in there! So my future projects might be limited unless I come upon a nice weekend where I can paint inside...without getting as high as the Empire State.
I got a before picture of the table, which I want to use as the future kitchen table but Im not sure how my cheap cruddy chairs will look. I could have SWORN I got a before picture of the end table but it was basically the same as the kitchen table.
Im pretty proud at the effect that I got :D
All the paint was bought at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore for $1 a quart.
Furniture pieces were CL freebies!
Work in progress for sure. You can see its sitting atop my other CL freebie. It was a coffee table that had stone pieces plastered ontop. But they broke. I was going to use it in the living room and try to get the granite effect on there as well but I think I might just get some foam and fabric and make it a bench!
Plus, my mom won a metal shelf in a drawing at her work, guessing they're doing some remodeling. I wasnt going to touch it but that red can of spray paint just wouldnt leave me alone! So I tried at my half-assed stencil idea. I'll post pictures of that tomorrow.
Might do a run by Goodwill on lunch today...the urge is getting too hard to resist!
PS: Saw a little idea of a very cheap ottoman on a blog. I very well might just be doing that this weekend! ;D

I also had a white entertainment stand type dealio I got at a church garage sale for $2.
Kind of just messing around with it unsure of what future I have in store for this perty little miss.

Groceries
So my plan for the house and groceries...
Ever payday(mine) I will go grocery shopping. Thats bi weekly.
There will be a paper/board/white board or something up for everyone to write 5 things that they want.
Won't need to worry about toilet paper, napkins, paper plates, etc because theres an extra 10 or so everyone will be paying monthly to go into a TP fund ;)
Anyway... I'll take the list with me to work Friday Morning so then after work before I head home I can go to the store.
I'd say thats pretty good? Then they can put stuff like hamburger helper, porkchops, dr pepper, etc.
My 5 will probably always be...
Yeah I'm weird like that.
Then I will come home with the grocery bill and we'll split it completely evenly(sp?). Depending on what everyone chooses Im estimating $150 at the least.
Also I figured I'll have them just give me their ends of rent and utilities(my estimations) before the 7th of each month. Then its in my bank by mortgage time and in time for utilities.
Hoping to eliminate the whole "Oh you ate my ---" issues.

Pimples
Appropriate title I think.
Considering all of the stress of this process has earned me many.
Finished the house inspection, few knitpicks here and there but as long as they fix what they need to so we can pass the appraisal I am a happy camper. I can always put my men to work later ;)
Okay more to my wishlist.

I want to steal all of her ideas pratically.
I want to do a door like that for the laundry room.
TO BE CONTINUED....

soon hopefully.
